Snapshot Review: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

This is the first time I have tried Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Butter and I must admit it was the cute packaging that sold it to me. I chose shade 055 Cupcake and here are my initial thoughts on it:

They say:

It is a buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips. 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated.

I say:

It is lovely to apply and feels really nice on the lips, however there isn’t a great amount of colour and it is a little sheer, so you need to apply quite a lot to achieve a nice colour. I was hoping for a nice light pink shade but it swatches a lot brighter than it appears on the lips. This is a nice balm for casual day time, or for slicking on when you are in a rush, as it doesn’t require really any skill or precision to apply it. The packaging is my favourite part about this product, the light pink case with the engraved diamond shapes is too cute. I do think the packaging is slightly misleading though as it makes it look a lot more like a lipstick than a balm.

Overall verdict:

Slightly disappointed. If you are looking for a tinted balm, then this is a lovely option but if you are looking for something with a bit more colour maybe try one of their brighter shades, there are 19 others to choose from.

Have you tried Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Butters before?
