Christmas Beauty Pressies

It’s not Christmas without getting a beauty pressie or two. Whether it is from family and friends or treats to myself, I love getting make-up at Christmas. I think the festive season is the perfect time to try out a new look and experiment with make-up. With so many nights out, it is too boring to stick to the same tried and tested make-up look and is the perfect time to try out new eyeshadow colours, new lipstick shades and add some glitter.

Here are the newest additions to my make-up bag and my initial thoughts on them:

Eyes:

Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 3 – this palette is amazing, it has a great selection of colours from cream to dark brown with lots of lovely rose gold and sparkly gold shades thrown into the mix. I used this palette so much over the Christmas and created lots of different eye looks, my favourite being a rose gold smokey look which I will post a “how-to” on soon.

Benefits They’re Real Mascara – I have had this mascara in the past and decided to try it out again. I must admit first time around I liked it a lot more, this time I feel it doesn’t live up to the hype and makes the lashes stick together, I would prefer L’Oreal’s telescopic mascara anyday. Although one thing I do like about this mascara is that the tip of the brush has bristles, making it perfect for reaching inner lashes and coating the lower lashes.

Face:

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC30 – I have only tried this foundation once and it was love at first application. It went on so easily and the coverage was second to none. This is the perfect foundation for nights out and events because it is so long lasting and doesn’t seem to budge.

Crownbrush UK Concealer Palette – unwrapping this one was very exciting, I have seen the hype about this palette and it has been on my wishlist for quite some time. This palette has 10 different shades, from very light to very dark – it is the ultimate kit for concealing, highlighting and contouring! Full review coming soon.

L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Powder in medium, I can’t recommend this product highly enough, it provides a flawless matte finish and is perfect for setting concealer.

Lips:

MAC Pink Pearl Pop – in love with this shade, check out my full review on it here.

Soap and Glory A Great Kisser – this cute little bauble includes the A GREAT KISSER Lip Balm in Juicy Peach. This lip balm is so nice, it smells of yummy peaches and makes your pucker soft and moisturised, what more could you want from a lip balm?

Nails:

My lovely other half knows me oh too well and got me this amazing No.7 Nail set. It has 3 different polishes for each season, making that 12 gorgeous shades in total. I can’t wait to try out these beauties, especially the gorgeous lilac.

Rimmel French Manicure Set – the perfect set to create a beautiful and chic French manicure. I have yet to try these polishes but they look really good and on the label it states that the manicure should last up to 10 days, so I am eager to but that statement to the test.

Pretty Perfect Nail drying spray – I have never seen this product before but what a genius idea. I picked this up in my local pharmacy and it was super cheap, only €2. I tried this a few times and it is quite tricky, you need to make sure that you hold the spray as far away from your nails as possible because if you are too close to the fresh polish this spray will created bubbles on your nails and that just ruins the whole manicure.

Body:

Soap & Glory Eau La La set – I have seen many a beauty blogger rave about Soap and Glory’s Orangeasm, so was super excited to try this! Unfortunately I forgot it at home in Ireland so won’t be enjoying it until my next visit. Am I missing much, is it even worth the hype?

Soap & Glory Soap for the Best – this set includes THE RIGHTEOUS BUTTER, CLEAN ON ME, HAND FOOD, THE SCRUB OF YOUR LIFE and a body polisher, all the good stuff!
