New Beauty Buys

I feel like everytime I walk into Boots there is a whole new array of must have products that I need to try and buy. Always a new beauty launch or trend, it is hard to resist all the loveliness. And whilst on the constant quest for holy grail beauty products you have to try a few duds along the way. Here are the latest products I have picked up, some that I would highly recommend and some I certainly wouldn’t!

Face:
1. L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau de Teint in 150 Nude Beige
I picked this foundation up as I am very intrigued by it. I heard many a blogger rave about this one including my fave, Carli Bybel, so I just had to try it. I must admit I am quite sceptical about it because it seems very light and I wonder if it will provide good coverage. I have only swatched this one but I am hoping that it will make for a brilliant light weight day foundation, I will keep you posted.IMG_1789

2. Olay Total Effects 7 in One Moisturiser
I just got this but it is quickly becoming a firm favourite. It smells delicious and feels amazing on the skin. It is designed to combat lots of skin issues, such as dryness and firmess and who doesn’t love a good a multitasker? Here’s hoping it will work wonders.IMG_1791

3. Maybelline Baby Skin
I bought this a while back but have only just started using it again. It is so amazing and you only need to use the smallest amount so it lasts ages. It creates a brilliant base for foundation by covering any pores and smoothing out your skin. It also helps your foundation to last longer so it really is a must have in your makeup bag.IMG_1799

Eyes:
1. L’Oreal Miss Manga Mega Volume mascara
I had really high hopes for this mascara but unfortunately it hasn’t lived up to them. I thought it was going to give amazing full long lashes on top and bottom but it just under performs on all levels, it doesn’t give the lashes much length and seems to disappear throughout the day. Overall I wouldn’t recommend it as there are so many other amazing mascaras out there to spend your money on instead.IMG_1790

2. L’Oreal False Lash Telescopic mascara
I have repurchased the telescopic mascara quite a few times now and I love it. This one gives you a false lash effect and the wand is just brilliant for coating the bottom lashes and is also great for reaching the tricky inner corners.

3. Bourjois ombré a paupieres eyeshadow in 92 Gris Paillettes
What a mouthful… This gorgeous sparkly dark grey is beautiful to use as an accent colour, it is far too dark to use all over the lids but works perfectly blended into the crease. I love the bourjois pots, they are so cute and include a little applicator brush which is super handy.IMG_1788

Lips:
1. Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede in 030 High Heels
This is such a gorgeous coral pink shade but the texture is very tacky so it definitely needs a coat of gloss over the top. I think it is because of the suede finish but I really don’t like the feeling this gives the lips and is very hard to blend. I won’t be trying any other shades from this Ulimate Suede collection as I prefer my lipsticks to be moisturising.IMG_1787

2. Bare Minerals lipgloss in fruit smoothie
This is a fab gloss it’s a lovely shade and has great staying power, it also smells yummy. Pretty much ticks all the boxes really.

Nails:
In the recent Models Own sale I purchased these three gorgeous polishes, Misty Grey, Strawberry Tart and Coral Reef. I can’t wait to try them, especially the Misty Grey as I think it will be a really chic shade. Also the Strawberry Tart is scented so that will be another interesting one.IMG_1792
