Powder Essentials

Powder, you need one to set your foundation, one to add a pop of colour to your cheeks, another to highlight your cheekbones and one to bronze up your complexion. All in all you need a lot of gorgeous powders to create a beautiful make up look. These are the powders currently filling up my makeup bag and are my must haves that I use pretty much everyday.

Bronzer

Maybelline Dream Sun Triple Bronzing Powder in 01 Blonde

This trio bronzer goes from light to medium to dark, which will be great for both day and night as you can use the lighter shades to contour during the day and the darker shades during the night to create a much stronger look. I just picked this one up in Superdrug so I have yet to put it to the test but its swatches amazingly and I think this will be my new fave bronzer. Also, it is tailored to your hair colour so I am intrigued to see how it will work with my blonde locks.IMG_3464

Setting Powder

Maybelline Matte Maker Mattifying Powder

I love setting powders that give a matte finish to your foundation, I hate to be shiny so this is the perfect powder for for the t-zone, it will also be great for setting under eye concealer. This is new and has just been released so I hope it will be as good as it looks. Full review coming soon.IMG_3462

Highlighter

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter

This pretty pearly powder is perfect for popping above your cheekbones as it highlights and makes them stand out a little more. The trick with this one though is to only use a very small amount because if you use too much it can end up looking quite dirty. I also like to put this just above the bow of my lips as it makes them appear fuller.IMG_3465

Blusher

Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarine

My absolute favourite blusher, it is the most beautiful coral shade and blends so gorgeously, it really does stay true to its “second skin” name. I am hoping to add some of the pink shades of this blusher to my stash soon as I just love it.IMG_3467 IMG_3466

And of course when you buy new powders you just need to add a new blusher brush to your collection too (at least that’s what I told myself in Superdrug), this Real Techniques Blusher Brush is so soft and fluffy, it is the perfect size for applying both bronzer and blusher.IMG_3463

FYI, Superdrug are doing 3 for 2 on all makeup right now and you also get a cute little #MAKEUP bag as a gift with purchase so now is the time for some makeup shopping (like we need an excuse).IMG_3471
