I believe that how you approach Mondays has a lot to do with how productive and successful the rest of your week will be. I know it can be hard to get out of bed on a Monday morning and get motivated to take on the week, especially after a hectic weekend, but if you have a positive mind-set at the start of the week and set yourself some goals this will help you to have a super productive week. Here are some tips and quotes to help motivate you to make the most of your week because once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.
1. Think about the end goal
What is it you want to achieve? Once you decide this and begin to visualise it, it will motivate you to do what needs to be done in order to get you closer to that end goal.
2. Write a list and tick everything off as you go
This helps you prioritise everything you need to do and by ticking things off you feel like you are really accomplishing things, which in turn motivates you to keep going. It is beautiful sight to see a long to-do list with ticks after every point.
3. Stay positive
When you look at said list and it is so long you suddenly feel overwhelmed, just remind yourself that you are capable of achieving everything on that list and think about how good it will feel when you have accomplished everything. So stay positive and power on through!
4. Reward yourself
After an extremely tough day one of my favourite things to do is to pop into Lush and pick up a beautiful bath bomb, then head home, light some candles, pop on Spotify and relax in a wonderful pink bath. You have to reward yourself because it will help motivate you to keep working hard, that Chanel handbag is not going to fall into your lap (if only!) you have got to work for it.
5. Avoid procrastination
Yes Netflix is a beautiful place where many an hour is spent but if you want to achieve things you have got to avoid binge watching. Limit yourself to just one show and then get back to that to-do list.
6. Limit your social media use
I know we need to stay on top of everything that is happening in the social sphere but you know how it goes, you pop on Instagram for a quick look and all of sudden you are weeks deep in some girls amazing account, wishing your life was as glamourous. Allow yourself some time to check in on your accounts but don’t spend hours on there as it will make you feel as though you have wasted lots of valuable time and why not strive to achieve your goals instead of watching someone else achieve theirs?
Usually when I get home from work I love to cuddle up on the couch with my love and if it has been an exceptionally tough day, tuck in to some Oreo ice-cream – I mean total dream evening! But when I have lots to do and need to get motivated I get exercising. Even if I just go for a quick walk it gives me lots more energy and helps me become motivated to get stuff done. Tonight’s task – organise my closet, which will probably result in rewarding myself on ASOS because hey I worked hard 😉
