New Beauty Buys

As we all know there is no such thing as too much makeup so on the constant quest to buy as much as I can without my other half putting a stop to it once and for all I have picked up some new gems. These are the latest buys that I have added to my makeup collection and some of the them are quickly becoming firm favourites.

Blush Professional Pro Finish Eyeshadow Primer

I have never used an eyeshadow primer before because I never have an issue with my eyeshadow not staying put. However, some of the shadows I use have a tendency to crease so I am hoping this primer will rectify this and leave my lids looking flawless.

NYX Conceal, Correct, Contour Palette in Deep

I picked this up mostly for the orange concealer as I want to get much better at colour correcting. This is the perfect concealer for under your eyes because the orange counteracts any bluish tones. The orange NYX concealer is sold out everywhere so when I see it in this set I had to get it.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in 21 Nude

When this product first came out, many years ago, I absolutely loved it as it is light and really easy to blend. I spotted it when I was doing my weekly makeup shop and thought it would be fun to try it out again. It is a nice product but I wouldn’t rely on it for my full base, I use it more of as a touch up product or in areas where I want to build coverage. It is nice to apply and leaves a smooth finish.

Bare Minerals Blush

This bright pink powder blush is very striking. It is easy to blend but needs to be used very sparingly or else the result will be clown like.

I realised recently that my lipgloss collection was nothing in comparison to my lipstick collection so I obviously had to rectify that hence the following purchases:

NYX Butter Gloss in Meringue and Crème Brulee

This are so cute, I have seen so many Instagram posts about them and have been excited to try them. I choose Meringue which is a gorgeous pink shade and Crème Brulee which is a lovely nude.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer

These glosses have a fantastic pigment but they are a little messy and hard to apply. While they are perfect for a night out look you may want to use a straw so that the gloss doesn’t smear all over your face. I have it in the red and dark pink shades, sorry no names on the glosses packaging.

Gerard Cosmetics Lipgloss in Pouty Princess

This is a cute gloss that has a small amount of sparkle. I have had this for a little while now and have only used it two or three times and while I like it doesn’t stay put very well and needs to be topped up regularly. Also, it has a light on the end of the wand to improve application but it is very temperamental and sometimes works but most of the time doesn’t, this doesn’t really bother me though as I see this feature as a nice to have not a necessity.

Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay 7 Days polish in Pink in the Park

This is one of my favourite polishes, they have fantastic staying power, you only need two coats and the colour selection is fantastic. This cute ballerina pink is gorgeous and girly and I love it.
