Benefit High Beam To Buy Or Not To Buy

The beauty world has gone highlighter mad, everyone wants their cheekbones to glow from streets away and for it to give Amrezy a run for her money, which is probably not even a little bit possible her highlight is always beaming.

On the quest for that envy enduring highlight I am trialling quite a few different products and this one from Benefit is fairing pretty well so fair.

They say:

Our satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a radiant glow. Use as a spot highlighter or delicately blend all over your complexion. Looks perfectly radiant on all skintones. It’s the “supermodel in a bottle”!

I say:

I love the packaging and the fact that it is a liquid that dries as a powder is so innovative. It has a gorgeous pearly pink colour which is quite subtle and suits my skin tone much more than the yellow highlights that are available. It’s one of those products though that you have to work in right away because it dries quite quickly, so you dab it on and then you need to blend it quickly in order to get that glow in just the right places.

The Verdict:

While this is a nice highlighter it is a little subtle and there are so many other options out there that are much cheaper and offer a much higher pigment payoff. So if you are looking for that striking glow I would say that this is a not to buy but if you want to keep your highlight soft and add a lovely sheen to your face then this one should be right up your street.

If you have this or another fantastic highlighter but you’re not sure where exactly to apply, there are 4 main areas, above your cheekbones, under your eyebrow arch, on the bow of you lips and down your nose – hello highlighted heaven.

The Balms Betty Louminser is my most recent highlighter purchase and because of the rave reviews it has received I am very excited to try it out. Of course I will report back once I have tested its glow credentials.

Next up on the highlighter hit list is a Anastasia Beverly Hills highlight, they are nearly too pretty to even touch though, never mind swirl your brush in and mess it up – it can’t be just me who sometimes doesn’t want to use their makeup because it is just looks so pretty the way it is?

What is your go-to highlight right now?
