Rimmel by Kate Lipstick Review

I love a good celebrity makeup collaboration as much as the next cosmetics fanatic and the collection created by fashion icon, Kate Moss with Rimmel has received some rave reviews and is one I was certainly keen to try.

I picked up two of the Kate Lasting Finish lipsticks in shade 110, a gorgeous bright red with a little pop of orange and shade 45, a pretty nude colour with brown undertones.

They say:

The 1st Lipstick collection created by Kate Moss. High intensity colour for up to 8 hours. Formula infused with Black Diamonds, reflects light like never before. Captues all the flair, edge and timelessness of Kate’s unique look.

I say:

I absolutely love these two colours especially the red one as it is a beautiful bright shade with a slight hint of orange. They are super easy to apply and have great staying power, fantastic for an everyday lipstick.

Verdict:

At £5.49 these lipsticks are certainly worth a try. The colour payoff is brilliant and they’re quite long lasting – two things that are absolute must haves when it comes to choosing a lipstick. The only thing though is that they are quite drying on the lips’ as they have a matte finish. So if your lips are already on the dry side, thanks to our lovely winter weather, this lipstick would not be ideal and will only work to point out your dry lips further.

If you are suffering from a case of dry lips but still want to work a matte lip you should exfoliate your lips before applying the lipstick. A great at home lip exfoliater which I love to use and is super quick and easy, is sugar and Vaseline. Simply add a little sugar to Vaseline and then massaging it all over your lips. This will get rid of any dead skin cells on your lips and have them feeling lip smackingly luscious and ready for any lippy.

Have you tired this lipstick before?

Those colours are so nice! I really like that nude colour, always a surprise for me, haha! I haven’t tried those shades, but I do have 107 and 102 and I really like them. For me they aren’t terribly drying, either so that’s nice! Though I can definitely see how they could be drying on some. Mattes are tough!
