Whether you feel stuck in a job you don’t love or you have run out of ideas for your blog and don’t know how to make progress, sometimes you get stuck in a rut and unfortunately it is something that is inevitable. It can be quite a claustrophobic feeling and is rarely a happy place to be but like everything in life it doesn’t last forever.
Right now I feel a little stuck and this is something that drives me crazy, as I always want to be striving and progressing forward achieving my goals and making this blog so much better. I am the type of person who thinks of an idea and gets straight to work setting the wheels in motion and then wants to see results instantly, which never really happens because we all know all the great things in life take time, which in itself can be a little discouraging.
There are lots of tips and tricks out there to get you unstuck so to speak and back into the blogging swing of things and here are a few of the ones I am going to enforce to help get me back on track and reinvigorated.
Travel – Even if it is just a day visit to a new town in your country, a road trip with your besties or a weekend away, travelling is always a good idea and by exploring a new place this can trigger a little inspiration. It is also great to have a little down time and to use it to switch off from everything and not think about your blog or any of the niggles of your every day life.
Make a change – As the saying goes a change is as good as a rest. If you are stuck with your blog and don’t know how to progress with it, make a change. If you usually think of content during the weekend why not get up early one morning head to Starbucks and just write down whatever ideas pop in to your head, you may come up with some of your best content ideas ever! Or maybe take your laptop outside on a sunny day and see if that encourages you to wear out your keyboard.
Take up a new hobby – Dance class or a photography course, these type of things can be perfect for getting you out of your head and make a big impact on your life and blog for the better.
Set a new goal – Whether that is ensuring you get content up twice a week or want to enhance your SEO skills, write your goal down and stick to it, sometimes a little purpose and vision is what you are missing and one of the main reasons why you are feeling a little disjointed with your life and blog.
Switch off from social media – Take a break from the glitzy, polished images that are presented to you on Instagram as this leads to comparing yourself to those accounts which never really makes you feel good especially when you are not in the best place. Instead go for a long walk to clear your head and try to remember why you started blogging in the first place.
Organise a girls night – Get glammed up, have lots of bubbles and laughs, as this will right most wrongs and help distract you from the blogger block you are encountering. You could also always ask your friends for advice on what they enjoy reading the most as that could inspire your next blog post or it could even trigger a whole new blog series. A problem shared is a problem halved after all.
