New Makeup

It’s that time again whereby I round up the latest additions to my makeup collection. Some have already been put to the test but most are newbies that I can’t wait to put through their paces with lots of new reviews coming soon.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Renaissance Palette

The star of the show and one of my most favourite items in my entire makeup collection is this beauty, the Modern Renaissance palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. The colour selection is incredible as there is not one shade that I don’t like and I just know I will hit pan on every colour because they are all so glorious. From swatching I can tell the shadows are highly pigmented and ever so creamy which will be great when it comes to blending them out.  Full review coming soon on this babe but for now lets just appreciate it in all its glory.IMG_0428 IMG_0427

Morphe 12 Colour Natural Beauty Palette

I have heard good things about Morphe’s eyeshadow palettes so have been keen to try one out for myself. I went with the Natural Beauty palette because I am all about that natural look, haha jokes, all about the loading it on look but check out that shade selection, it is perfect. You can never have too many neutral toned palettes even if they are usually a base for glitter. I picked this natural beauty up on Cult Beauty for less than £14 #winning.

Freedom Pro Blush Bronzed and Baked Palette

How beautiful does this palette look? With a selection of blushes, highlights and bronzers I had to give it a whirl even though I wasn’t overly impressed with the items I have tried from this brand recently. When I swatched this though it seemed quite impressive so I am keen to give this brand another chance.IMG_0429

Wet n Wild Cover All Liquid Concealer

I picked this liquid concealer from Wet n Wild in shade Light and so far I have been really liking it. The coverage is quite good and the colour is perfect for highlighting and concealing the under eye area. I prefer to use this one for daywear as it doesn’t provide as strong coverage as my Prolongwear concealer from MAC does.

Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation

Recently I have been testing out a lot of new foundations from the drugstore as I am totally over the L’Oreal True Match that everyone is obsessed with, I find the consistency of it far too light. I have been trying this new one from Bourjois for a couple of weeks now and I really like it. It promises to colour correct while providing a flawless complexion, even to perfection – very impressive chat! I love the colour but I do find that in some areas of my face the coverage is not great so find myself having to add more product to get that flawless result they promised so I am still on the hunt for a better one. If you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments below.IMG_0424

Flormar Illuminating Primer

I have seen quite a few Irish bloggers rave about this primer from Flormar but I am yet to see what the fuss is about. I used it under my makeup throughout my recent weekend away at the Galway Races and while my makeup did stay great all night long, I didn’t notice any real ‘illumination’ or glow which was what I had been hoping for. Perhaps I need to use a little more product next time so I will not write this one off just yet.

Catrice Nude Illusion Loose Powder in Translucent

I am obsessed with this powder from Catrice as it is absolutely perfect for setting my under eye concealer. It stops it from creasing and keeps it in place all day. This one is a big hit for me and I will certainly be repurchasing it. Something to note though is to not go overboard when applying this one as it can leave you looking very powdery and cakey which is never the desired effect.

Makeup Revolution Baked Blush in Hard Day

This is such a cute blush from Makeup Revolution that adds a pop of glow as well as a little pop of colour to those cheeks. The pigment is nice but not overly powerful so you will need to build it up a little.

Essence Velvet Matt lipstick in 23

This beautiful nude lipstick is perfect for everyday wear, it feels velvety on the lips and has great colour payoff. I love that Essence lipsticks are so inexpensive yet high performing, they are great for leaving in your handbag for when you’re out and about. This 23 shade is a gorgeous pinky nude that looks great both day and night.IMG_0425

Essence lipliner 11 in the nude

To match the above lippy I picked up this liner in nude and I really like, it has great staying power and the nude colour is perfect for my skin tone.

Barry M lipstick in 169

This lipstick may look identical to the Essence one above but it is a much darker nude with a stronger colour payoff. It also seems to be a little creamier in consistency and anyway you can never have too many nude lippies.

Inglot Lip Paint in 55

The texture of this lip paint from Inglot is very nice and feels really lush on the lips. I chose shade 55 which is a gorgeous dark mauve colour, ideal for nights out. I got this one awhile ago but as you can see I have never really used it as you have to apply it with a lip applicator/brush and I never tend to bring one of those out with me so I tend to opt for a trusty MAC lippy instead.IMG_0432

Lots of makeup newbies to make room for which is always the fun part (not, I’m running out of space)!

Have you purchased any makeup lately that you are in love with?
