DIY Glam Makeup Vanity

I have been on the hunt for a makeup vanity for months now! I wanted something a little extra and totally glam for my beauty room as this is the one room in my house where I can just go all out and there is no such thing as too much.

I really struggled to find something a little different that wasn’t the standard IKEA desk that most makeup lovers use or one that wasn’t crazily expensive.

I wanted the vanity to be white, have some storage and not take up too much space in the room. Eventually I came across this cute yet very basic desk from Argos that was extremely inexpensive at only £50 and thought if I jazzed it up it may just work.

And that’s exactly what I did and I am totally in love with how it turned out.

To make it a little more me and suitable for its new glam home I switched out the handles to big diamond ones which I picked up from B&M. This easy step instantly made it look a million times more glam. I then found silver glitter tape in Dealz (yes for only £1) and added this to the trim of the desk for some added sparkle. These simple steps really worked to add some glamour to the desk and helped to make it more unique and of course, glittery.

It is not the best quality but at £50 I really can not complain and it will be perfect until I track down the vanity of dreams. It also has great storage with 3 drawers on one side and 3 shelves on the other which is great when you have a makeup hoarding obsession like I do.

It was also quite easy to put together and I managed to do it all by myself which was strangely a very rewarding exercise.

What do you think, do like my new makeup vanity?
